Children's Education

Although Uganda values education, the rising refugee population and the lack of funds for teachers has caused a significant problem in educating the youth.

Only 25% of Ugandan students go to high school, leaving most children little hope to rise above the crushing weight of poverty.

The Vine changes the course of a child’s life by providing education and medical care from a young age all the way through secondary school.

Once a child is identified and brought into The Vine Children’s Sponsorship Program, they are placed in a classroom full-time. Their sponsorship includes room and board, personal and academic supplies, and medical coverage if sick or in need of medicine or testing.

With the completion of The Vine Baby Cottage in 2021, we’ll be able to receive infants and abandoned toddlers that progress to The Vine Nursery School for three and four year olds. Following our on-site nursery school, students will enter The Vine Primary and proceed to secondary school at Musana. Our goal is to take a child from infancy to graduation with no gaps in their health or education.

The Vine Primary

The Vine Primary School will be a premiere school featuring an excellent staff of teachers, social workers, house-parents while providing a rigorous Christian curriculum.  Our dream is to build and operate a high performing school where orphans and disadvantaged children can obtain a Christ-centered, quality education.

Families that struggle to pay school fees also benefit because of our scholarship program.

We provide a quality primary education for the children of Kamuli that attend as day students. We also provide a home for “student orphans” who reside at The Vine while receiving an outstanding education and the security of a loving home.
