Our Story

In 2010, Gari Meacham led a team of teachers offering a training to staff at Musana Community Development Center. What began as a 3-week trip turned into a life-long love.

In 2013, Gari and a small team launched a Sunday School class with small meetings in a few villages. This led to forming the child sponsorship program and various programs for women.

In 2018, Gari, Executive Director Richard Mwogereze, and The Vine Board led a re-launch of the organization under a new name, Kamuli The Vine Uganda.

Today, the Vine serves in over 13 villages, offers sustainable programs and training for women, runs The Vine Preschool and Vocational Tailoring School for students, creates products sold as The Vine Collective, and offers life-changing discipleship through outreaches and events.  We operate the Vine Baby Cottage which houses orphaned and abandoned babies from birth to five years of age.
